definition
CGPI is the predecessor of the domestic wholesale price index (Wholesale Price Index, referred to as WPI), index preparation began in January 1994. Is a statistical indicator reflecting the price changes of centralized trading of material goods among domestic enterprises and is a more comprehensive measure of inflation and a composite price index reflecting economic fluctuations. CGPI survey is approved by the National Bureau of Statistics, the People's Bank of China to establish and implement a survey statistics system.

General: It has played an active role in judging the price situation and macroeconomic monitoring and has provided an index of price indices for the central bank to formulate and adjust its monetary policy in a comprehensive and timely manner reflecting the stability of China's currency.
